Sex… with a penis

As a female writer who enjoys exploring the unknown, I sometimes write stories from the point of view of a male protagonist. As I often write graphic sex scenes, so I find myself trying to imagine what it would be like to have sex – from the point of view of the guy attached to the penis. What sparks the desire to seduce a particular woman? If my intention is to look for sex, what is it that draws me to one woman above others? Her looks, her figure, her laugh… her scent. Or is it that she’s looking at me, hinting that she’s interested?

And if sex isn’t my motivation for being amongst people, what makes it so? What puts the idea in my mind and inspires me to initiate sex? What drives me want to peak quickly, or to draw out and savour the pleasure?

Basically, how is the pleasure different to what a woman experiences during foreplay, orgasm and post-coitus?

As always, I did some research online (as well as having some fun imagining). If you’d like to see how I did writing sex from a male POV, click on the graphic below and grab a copy of ‘With You’, a sensual imagining of a night of lust in WW2 Paris, when life was precarious and pleasure was a precious distraction from the dangers and depravations of living in Nazi-occupied Paris.

Below are some descriptions I found helpful (with links to relevant websites at the end).

‘The penis is surrounded by wet warmth. The psychological experience of being completely enveloped by a vagina is incomparable. It feels like power, potential, and freedom at the same time.’

‘… feels like a warm cushion. The weird part is, the penis doesn’t really “absorb” the feeling. It’s your head/brain that starts rushing.’

“Entering a vagina is a very intense moment because for me – it’s the ultimate agreement of intimacy between a man and woman.”

I love this one (even though its external):
‘Comparison-wise, put your index finger in your mouth and wrap your tongue around it. Now imagine if your finger had the sensitivity of your clit. That’s what it’s like.’
*Cue my brain exploding!

The lead up to sex more so than the act, before the physical sensations take over, seems to be easier to describe as internal sensations/motivation:

‘…excited, focused, and consumed with an overwhelming sense of animalistic focus. It’s as if my biological hardwiring kicks in, flooding my body with prickly adrenaline.’

‘I’m still in control of my body and my actions, but managing my behavior requires greater self-control. This is where many men indulge in a one-track mind. It’s like a hyper-state of arousal where we kind of enter a flow state of sex.’

Some creative responses to penile sensations feels during the act:

‘The penis does not feel consumed or surrounded, but functionally positioned like an elevator in its shaft. Pleasure comes in occasional jolts and not a constant sensation of deepening or rhythmic enjoyment.’

‘There’s tingling and further hardening and excitement and the feeling of growth and the will to go forward even deeper.’

‘As you thrust, each zone of penis gives a different sensation… the other enjoyable part is when the balls strike against the vulva…’

I love this one!
‘Imagine a thick sock made of velvet. Then add in some ridges.’

There were many comparisons to food and drink, and warm jam donuts…

‘Imaging eating the best brownie you’ve ever had, then imagine that sensation over all your nerve endings and taking up your entire headspace, rather than just having a party in your mouth.’

‘…like sliding into warm custard.’

‘A rush of adrenaline and excitement and then a satisfying feeling, like when you have that first sip of a cold beer on a really hot summer’s day.’

I would particularly love to hear from anyone out there who has a penis as part of their anatomy, or how those who don’t own a penis imagine it would be like to have and use one. Descriptions of how it feels when you start to get turned on (and what triggered it), the sensations and feelings your body experiences (not so much the external physical sensations) from penetration to climax. A taste of Paris – short, not sweet

Here’s the little taste I promised of my upcoming novella With You...

Etta Brun is the darling of the Nazi-controlled French film industry.
Gerhardt Lang is a Gestapo officer with orders for mass murder in his pocket.
She’s been barely civil to him whenever their paths cross, so why is she now inviting herself back to his hotel room?

The lift lurched slowly upward.
Gerhardt shuddered, hijacked by lust too long repressed. After months of starring in his fantasies, Etta was actually here, in his arms, her sweet tongue between his lips.
Scheisse. She tasted better than he’d imagined.
She tasted like Paris.
He pulled her closer, his senses full of her–raspberries and champagne–yet somehow, miraculously, he held the intensity of his desire in check. They needed to get to his room. Then, when they were safe, he would find out why she was here.
Then, and only then, would they fuck.

Playing Dirty – love, lust and betrayal in WW2 France (and England)

Forgive me readers for I have sinned…
it has been many months since my last post. I promise you though, I have been revelling in that sin… doing what I love most. Writing about sex. Lots of it. In a myriad of imaginative ways.

The first project I’ll be unleashing very soon is a series of erotic novellas set during WW2 in France and England.

Wars have been fought and won with the combined efforts of many, in lots of different ways – hand to hand combat, sabotage, subterfuge, seduction… So many interesting interactions, and consequences we can only dream of (and I have been!)

War is a time of extremes. With death a constant shadow, and difficulty and sacrifice a part of daily life, it’s no wonder that moments of joy and pleasure are grasped with both hands. Love, sex and seduction are often all the more exciting and pleasurable when it might be your last day alive.

About the Playing Dirty series of erotic novellas…
In the conflicts of the 20th century not many women fought on the front lines, but they did make their own significant contributions, depending on their individual talents – ambulance drivers, nurses, code-breakers, spies, honeytraps.

You may have heard that Josephine Baker spied for the Resistance, carrying messages for the Allies in her sheet music. Nancy Wake was also famous for her involvement in the Resistance, smuggling downed airman and would-be political prisoners out of France beneath the noses of the Nazis. There were so many women, many of them unknown and unrecognised, who employed whatever methods they had available to them to help the war effort, often using their feminine whiles to extract information; to lure and capture the enemy; or just to survive – finding pleasure, and sometimes love, along the way.

Playing Dirty uses the historical circumstances of war as a backdrop for stories about how far passionate people will go to fight for a cause they believe in.

At the start of this post I shared the mocked up covers of two of the stories. Next time you hear from me I’ll share a little taste of With You, the first novella off the rank, which I hope to release in January.

As for my second project… I’ll tell you all about that very soon. I promise there’s lots of delicious erotic adventures. Hint: think of all the naughtiness the gods got up to with humans, nymphs, and each other.

pleasure in the past

In the story I’m madly working on at the moment, Siren, Elisabeth Tanner is a passionate, virginal bride-to-be, set in the British Virgin Islands in the early 19th century. Having grown up in a marginally less rigid society, with a companion/maid who would these days be considered a couples sex therapist (her reason for being employed in Elizabeth’s parents house provides an interesting secondary story) Beth is determined to enjoy the marriage bed.

The day of her engagement to scientist explorer William Swan – the day before he is to leave on a 6 week voyage – Beth gives her betrothed a notebook and asks him to write her a journal of pleasure while he’s away, to enlighten her in the joys of sex.

He goes one better and also has the sail-maker craft a sex-toy to practice with, and to give herself pleasure. Something like this, and 18th century dildo found in Poland, eight inches long and made of high quality leather with a carved wooden tip.

As usual, I did some digging on-line (hence the photo, above) and found some fascinating information on the history of sex aids.

carried away… underground

I’ve been bitten by the historical bug… actually, I think I was bitten at birth, and this is in fact a serious relapse! I’ve always been a huge fan of historical fiction – and non-fiction – now I’m being sucked down into a glorious eddy of Victorian hedonism, vice and hidden, ancient sites in the name of research 😉

I can’t wait to share my discoveries as I explore the underground pleasures and taboos of historic London. Watch this space…

But now I have the cover, I better not get distracted by all those wicked temptations… I must write!

Want to know what the fuss is about? Here’s the low-down…

On a Thursday evening, in a boarded up theatre in downtown Las Vegas, an illicit poker game takes place. Each player is carefully selected, their skills expertly matched …

A jaded playboy tempted by a titillating prize.

A cash-strapped mechanic looking for a diversion from his difficult reality.

An underground poker game where winning hands are rewarded with sensual novelties… and the ultimate prize—a night of pleasure with the naked woman on whom the cards are dealt.

Pokerface is FMM menage. Contains adult themes and explicit sex scenes – recommended for 18+ readers.

As an added bonus I’ve included the RWA award winning short erotic story, ‘Daisy, Chained’ (in case you haven’t already read my sizzling martial arts story) because one of my favourite characters – Hiro – is in both.

And a little tip – Pokerface is available in epub and mobi, but the pdf version is the prettiest, if you’re into that sort of thing…

The pleasure in pain

I’ve just been editing the short story that won the 2018 RWA Spicy Bites comp for erotic romance, Daisy, Chained about a girl who embraces her feminine nature after a chance encounter with a sexy martial arts instructor and his whip chain. It got me thinking about the relationship between pain and pleasure and why a taste of pain at just the right moment can increase or prolong sexual pleasure.

So, you guessed it, I did some digging…

Pain for pleasure has long been a sexual practice and, as well as dominance and submission, is an important element in BDSM. Like a drug, the pleasure experienced with pain can be addictive and lead to a choice of lifestyle that leaves ‘vanilla’ sex in the past.

“… love, sex, pain and violence all stimulate the release of similar chemicals and hormones in the human body. Endorphins that are released in painful experiences are often perceived as pleasurable. Stress and pain can also stimulate the serotonin and melatonin production in the brain, which transforms painful experiences into pleasure. The release of epinephrine and norepinephrine in pain can also cause a pleasurable ‘rush’. Normal human biological response actually supports the complex and mysterious link between pain and pleasure, which we see in the runner’s high and the facial expressions during orgasmic release.” Wendy Strgar

Possibly in Daisy’s case, she receives some psychological healing with the experience of ‘good pain’ as explained by Dr. Jess O’Reilly:
‘If you’ve experienced pain in your past, you likely consider it a bad form of pain; by using pain as a source of pleasure, you can create a new type of pain — good pain.’
https://www.sexwithdrjess.com/podcast-2/#.Xlng05Mzb6d

Recently two studies found that ‘participants who engaged in consensual sadomasochistic acts as part of erotic play experienced a heightened sense of bonding with their partners and an increase in emotional trust.’

an erotic find

It’s no secret. I cannot resist the lure of a second-hand book. Something about the mystery of who owned it before… How many owners – and how many others – had held it in their hands and read the very same pages? Words woven by a stranger, most likely no longer living. A voice reaching out from the past, still influencing the living.

Even less can I resist a book with titillating content. The title, ‘An Anthology of Erotic Prose’ can hardly be misinterpreted. I decided on the spot it would be mine, and I would savor the contents a little at a time.

My first expedition into new erotic landscapes was with Violette Leduc, a French author and protegée of Simone de Beauvoir.

Born the illegitimate daughter of a servant girl, young Violette spent most of her childhood suffering from an ugly self-image. Life become more interesting at boarding school where she experienced lesbian affairs with a classmate and a music instructor who was fired over the incident. Not surprising, the main subjects of her writing are female love and desire.
